Will Powerwall 3 work with my home and solar?
Existing solar can often stay, subject to the connection design.
Powerwall 3 can work with an existing AC-coupled solar inverter or with panels connected directly to its integrated solar inverter. We check the current inverter, array and supply before deciding what stays.
Powerwall 3 is a single-phase unit. On a three-phase property, the design must account for the loads on each phase; one unit does not automatically provide three-phase backup.
What storage, backup and future additions should I plan for?
Choose usable storage and backup circuits together.
Each Powerwall 3 has 13.5 kWh of usable storage. Compatible Expansion units add storage, rather than another solar inverter. The number of units, space and connection requirements are confirmed for your installation.
Backup uses separate Gateway equipment and the circuits agreed in your design. Battery charge, running demand and appliance starting loads affect what can operate together. Tell us about any future EV charging so its demand is considered alongside storage.
What warranty and local support are included?
Tesla’s 10 years manufacturer warranty is separate from PSW cover.
Tesla's AU/NZ warranty Rev1.17, effective 3 September 2026, covers Powerwall 3, 3P and Expansion. It gives ten years and 70% capacity retention. Unlimited cycles apply only to the listed self-consumption, time-based control and backup uses; other applications have a 37.8 MWh throughput limit. Registration, internet connection and operating conditions apply. Australian availability and the quoted configuration remain separate checks.
PSW’s installation and service cover for the battery system is 10 years. For equipment supplied and installed by PSW, from installation completion, only where your signed installation agreement includes this commitment. Your written quote confirms whether it does. Existing longer promises and Australian Consumer Law rights remain unchanged. Manufacturer warranties apply separately on their own terms.
PSW Life Support gives you a local team to contact after handover. Keep your equipment and installation records. The Australian manufacturer warranty is linked under Full specifications.
