Seven years of Tesla Energy in Perth

PSW’s 2026 milestone, and the practical lessons for choosing solar, storage, backup and support for a WA home.

Seven years of Tesla Energy in Perth
In this article

In 2026, PSW Energy marked seven years working with Tesla Energy products. This is a record of that milestone and the lessons we bring to a home-energy conversation today: start with the household, agree the design and keep support easy to reach.

The home comes before the equipment.

A Perth electricity bill is a starting point, not a battery size. The hours you use electricity, the solar you can generate and the circuits you want during an outage tell us more than a state average.

A household adding storage to working solar has a different decision from one building a new system. We assess the existing equipment before recommending replacement. More storage can be useful, but capacity that rarely gets used deserves another look.

The product has changed.

Powerwall 2 remains in many existing homes. Current single-phase Powerwall 3 includes a solar inverter and has three solar trackers in its Australian specification. Suitable existing solar can also be assessed; integrated solar does not mean every retrofit must replace its inverter.

Read our current Powerwall comparison for the generation differences and owner guidance. The product configurator carries today’s conditional equipment guides, rather than prices from a past milestone.

EV charging is a further design choice. Do not assume an AC wall charger includes vehicle-to-home capability, or that every car and charger has the same solar-control functions. Check the Wall Connector product page against your vehicle and intended use.

The record behind the milestone.

PSW joined Tesla’s installer network in 2019. The original milestone article recorded Premium Certified Installer recognition beginning in 2022 and continuing through 2026. Those dates describe that period; they are not a promise about a future ranking or renewal.

The Q4 2023 Performance Excellence Award record and November 2023 Perth Tech Talk are part of that history. An installer award can help explain experience, but it does not establish that a particular battery is right for every customer.

Bring the whole design into view.

Ask for the proposed equipment, retained equipment, connection conditions and backup scope in the written quote. Government incentives and any manufacturer reward should be separate lines with their eligibility conditions. Avoid comparing systems on a battery-only price when the installation needs more equipment.

The Tesla Energy showcase is the starting point for the current range. Powerwall 3P remains a separate availability-pending direction on our site; an announced model is not an installed option to price as Powerwall 3.

After handover, PSW Life Support is the local route for system help. Keep your quote, warranty and installation records together so the next conversation starts with the equipment actually on your wall.
