Perth Solar Warehouse and Tesla Energy held a Tech Talk at Tesla’s Osborne Park showroom on 16 November 2023. PSW’s event report recorded that places filled within 48 hours. This is the record of that evening, not an invitation to an upcoming event.
The conversation in the room.
The evening explored solar, battery storage and EV charging as parts of a home-energy system. Many attendees already had equipment and wanted to understand what could come next. Derek McKercher discussed storage in the context of local electricity use and tariffs.
That remains a useful starting point. Consider the equipment together, even if you buy it in stages. Planning can reveal connection, switchboard and cable-route work early. It does not mean every household needs to purchase everything at once.
Staging a system can make sense.
A battery needs useful charging energy and later demand. An EV charger needs a suitable vehicle, parking location and electrical design. Shared branding alone does not establish that every device will communicate or provide the same functions.
Our solar now, battery later pathway is for people planning a staged approach. Discuss future equipment while choosing the first installation, without treating future compatibility or approval as guaranteed.
The products have moved on.
The Powerwall models discussed in 2023 are not the whole current range. Use the Tesla Energy showcase for current product direction and the Powerwall comparison for existing-owner and new-system guidance.
You can bring the same questions to us without waiting for an event. Start with your current equipment, a recent bill and the loads you want supported. Save an initial direction in Plan or talk with PSW.
