PSW Explains

Fronius inverter WiFi reconnection assistant

Choose the SnapINverter or GEN24 network guide, update the home connection with authorised customer access and check Solar.web data.

In this article

Let’s get your Solar.web connection back. An offline app alone does not tell you whether the system has stopped generating.

Before you reconnect

Use your phone, app and home router for these checks. Do not open covers, unplug modules, operate breakers or electrical isolators, restart the system or factory-reset equipment.

For a fault message, dead display or tripped breaker, use PSW Life Support. For smoke, burning smells, sparking, unusual heat or visible damage, keep clear and follow the safety advice.

Start with the inverter family

Check the model name in your installation paperwork or on a safely visible external label.

  • SnapINverter: Primo, Symo, Eco or Galvo systems using a Datamanager have a different local network menu from GEN24. Some Lite units use a separate Datamanager.
  • GEN24 or GEN24 Plus: use the GEN24 route. The family supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi rather than 5 GHz.
  • Other Fronius equipment, or not sure: ask PSW to identify it before following a local setup route.

Solar.web is the monitoring service. Local network configuration takes place on the inverter's matching user interface; Solar.start can help connect to supported models.

Have these ready

  • Working home internet. Connect your phone to home Wi-Fi and open a webpage. If it will not load, resolve the home connection first.
  • Your Wi-Fi details. Have the current network name and password ready. Enter passwords only in the manufacturer app or confirmed device interface, never in a PSW form or support message.
  • Your usual account. Check you can sign in and see your system. Use account recovery if you cannot.
  • A safe place nearby. Check the phone has a useful Wi-Fi signal near the equipment. Keep router security and system operating settings unchanged.

Update the home network

Open the manufacturer instructions for your family below and use its illustrated method to reach your inverter's local interface. If a temporary device network is required, match it to your own inverter. Use only your authorised customer access. If the hotspot is unavailable, the login is unknown or a setup wizard asks for commissioning settings, stop and contact PSW.

SnapINverter with Datamanager

  1. In the local interface, open Settings → Network.
  2. Choose Wi-Fi and select your home network from the available networks.
  3. Enter the current home Wi-Fi password and apply the settings with the confirmation tick. Keep existing address settings unless your network administrator has supplied a specific change.

GEN24 / GEN24 Plus

  1. In the local interface, open Communication → Network.
  2. Choose Wi-Fi, select your home network and enter its current password.
  3. Apply the network connection with Connect. Keep existing address settings unless your network administrator has supplied a specific change.

While connected to the inverter's temporary network, the phone may show that there is no Internet. Check that it has not silently rejoined a different network. A browser security warning, a missing access point or a request for technician credentials is a reason to pause and ask PSW; do not bypass the warning or guess a password.

Look for fresh Solar.web data

Reconnect your phone to its normal Internet connection, then reopen Solar.web. Check that your own system is selected and inspect the time of the latest reading. If local network settings saved but Solar.web remains stale, note that distinction for support instead of repeating the whole setup.

If you have never been able to view this system in your account, ask PSW about account access or system registration. Reconfiguring Wi-Fi does not transfer ownership or resolve a system already registered to another account.

Still offline?

If the screen differs or setup fails, pause rather than repeat another model’s steps.

Send PSW Life Support the model, app, last-update time and the step you reached. A screenshot can help; hide private details and leave out passwords. Only photograph safely visible labels.

Different brand? Choose your equipment in the Wi-Fi assistant.
