GoodWe system WiFi reconnect guide

Identify your GoodWe communication module before choosing SEMS or SolarGo. Follow the matching owner network setup and check fresh data.

GoodWe system WiFi reconnect guide
In this article

Let’s get your monitoring connection back. An offline app alone does not tell you whether the system has stopped generating.

Before you reconnect

Use your phone, app and home router for these checks. Do not open covers, unplug modules, operate breakers or electrical isolators, restart the system or factory-reset equipment.

For a fault message, dead display or tripped breaker, use PSW Life Support. For smoke, burning smells, sparking, unusual heat or visible damage, keep clear and follow the safety advice.

Choose the GoodWe connection you have

The inverter model alone is not enough to choose a reconnection method. Check the communication-module name in your installation paperwork or on a safely visible external label. Do not remove the module to read it.

  • SEMS / Solar-WiFi setup: use the SEMS route below if that is the setup method supplied for your existing module.
  • WiFi Kit-20 or WiFi/LAN Kit-20: these have a separate SolarGo/Bluetooth configuration route.
  • Other modules, ESA integrated communication or an unclear label: use the instructions supplied for that exact equipment, or ask PSW to identify it. Do not assume the older Solar-WiFi method applies.

Have these ready

  • Working home internet. Connect your phone to home Wi-Fi and open a webpage. If it will not load, resolve the home connection first.
  • Your Wi-Fi details. Have the current network name and password ready. Enter passwords only in the manufacturer app or confirmed device interface, never in a PSW form or support message.
  • Your usual account. Check you can sign in and see your system. Use account recovery if you cannot.
  • A safe place nearby. Check the phone has a useful Wi-Fi signal near the equipment. Keep router security and system operating settings unchanged.

Reconnect with the matching app

SEMS / Solar-WiFi route

  1. Open the Wi-Fi setup option in SEMS for your existing system.
  2. When prompted, use your phone's Wi-Fi settings to join the matching Solar-WiFi device network, then return to SEMS. Use the connection details supplied for your device; do not try passwords from other models.
  3. Select your home network in SEMS, enter its current, case-sensitive password and apply the settings.

If the temporary network is missing or the app does not offer this route, stop and check the module-specific manufacturer instructions below.

WiFi Kit-20 / WiFi-LAN Kit-20 route

  1. Open SolarGo, enable Bluetooth and allow the phone permissions it requests for nearby-device discovery. Match the device in the list to your own equipment before pairing.
  2. Use your authorised owner account if a role or login is requested. Do not select Installer or try default passwords to get past a login.
  3. Open More / Setting → Communication Setting. Hybrid interfaces may then show Network Setting. Set only the home-network connection and save.

GoodWe's Kit-20 instructions show different phone-network preparations across app versions. Follow the on-screen preparation for your exact module; there is no single mobile-data or Wi-Fi toggle rule for all GoodWe products.

Check the result

Return your phone to its normal Internet connection and reopen SEMS monitoring. Check both the connection status and the time on the latest reading. A saved network setting is not the same as fresh monitoring data, and fresh monitoring data is not a complete electrical-health check.

If the device can see your home network but cannot join it, check the network name and password once. If the network is absent, check the module's compatibility and signal requirements in its own guide. Do not reset or reload the module.

Still offline?

If the screen differs or setup fails, pause rather than repeat another model’s steps.

Send PSW Life Support the model, app, last-update time and the step you reached. A screenshot can help; hide private details and leave out passwords. Only photograph safely visible labels.

Different brand? Choose your equipment in the Wi-Fi assistant.

Manufacturer instructions

Use the network section for your exact model and app version. Electrical work and installer settings are outside this guide.
