Generation guide
Is 10 kW solar ideal for you?
If area limitations are obsolete, it’s important to choose a solar energy system that aligns with your daily energy consumption. A 10 kW solar system is typically suitable for an average daily usage of about 37.5 kWh, allowing for a tolerance of 7.5 kWh. This means that if your daily consumption is up to 45 kWh or as low as 30 kWh, a 10 kW system could be an excellent fit for you. To find your daily energy consumption in kWh, check your Synergy bill, which is listed as units.

Select an inverter.
An inverter converts solar energy into usable energy. When installed without batteries, network, oversizing limits, and environmental derating often make a 10 kW solar package paired with an 8 kW inverter an ideal fit. Here are three of our most popular 8 kW hybrid inverters:
Goodwe
+$2890*
Model: EHB 8.6. A hybrid inverter that suits 1-phase power supplies and has a 8.6 kW maximum power output. Three-phase variations are available at an additional cost.

Fronius
+$3990*
Model: Fronius Primo GEN24 8.0. A hybrid inverter suited to 1-phase power supplies and an 8 kW maximum power output requirement. Three-phase variations are available at an additional cost. Non-activated hybrid.

Sigenergy
+$4690*
Model: Sigen EC SP 8.0. A hybrid inverter/battery controller suited to 1-phase power supplies and an 8 kW maximum power output requirement. Three-phase variations are available at an additional cost.
Consider a battery?
Some customers are content with a solar-only solution, and we support that. With state and federal battery rebate options, home solar batteries are more affordable than ever.

Battery options.
If required, select a battery to suit your 10 kW solar system. Ideally, an option that stores 10 to 30 kWh daily for evening energy offset. Selected batteries offer blackout protection. Here are three of 2025’s most popular batteries:
Powerwall
+$11,290*
Model: 13.5k kWh, Powerwall 3. No inverter required. An all-in-one battery system with gateway that ideally suits 1-phase power supplies and has a 5-10 kW maximum power output. Three-phase power supply compatible, net metered.

Goodwe
+$5,390*
Model: 16 kWh, Lynx Home F G2. A high-voltage DC-coupled battery compatible with Goodwe EH & ET model inverters.

Storage guide
Do you need a battery?
If you consume all of your power during the day, a battery will be less of a consideration. However, if 30% of energy consumption or more is unavoidably evening consumption, a battery increases the likelihood of bill reduction success.
But size matters! As a guide, a Tesla Powerwall provides 13.5 kW of storage capacity, almost a third of a 10 kW solar energy system’s daily generation (10 kW = 45 kWh* per day). Your ideal battery size, more often than not, depends on your evening power use.
