Is 10 kW solar ideal for you?

If area limitations are obsolete, it’s important to choose a solar energy system that aligns with your daily energy consumption. A 10 kW solar system is typically suitable for an average daily usage of about 37.5 kWh, allowing for a tolerance of 7.5 kWh. This means that if your daily consumption is up to 45 kWh or as low as 30 kWh, a 10 kW system could be an excellent fit for you. To find your daily energy consumption in kWh, check your Synergy bill, which is listed as units.

Additional expansion factors should also be considered. If you need less or more power, explore 6.6 kW or 13 kW solar options x PSW.

Do you need a battery?

If you consume all of your power during the day, a battery will be less of a consideration. However, if 30% of energy consumption or more is unavoidably evening consumption, a battery increases the likelihood of bill reduction success.

But size matters! As a guide, a Tesla Powerwall provides 13.5 kW of storage capacity, almost a third of a 10 kW solar energy system’s daily generation (10 kW = 45 kWh* per day). Your ideal battery size, more often than not, depends on your evening power use.

An internal observation revealed a daily commute of 50 kilometres requires approximately 10 kWh of energy: Polestar 3, freeway driving to Perth CBD and back at general peak hours. Using a 10 kW solar energy system to charge your electric vehicle can lead to cost savings on household energy and commuting.

This means using energy during the times when your system is generating electricity, which increases savings based on the variable energy output of your system. 6. WA Battery Rebate. The value of the Residential Battery Scheme is applied as a $130 per kWh point-of-sale discount up to 10 kWh (usable kWhs) of storage capacity, with a requirement to join the Synergy or Plico VPP. Customers can opt out of this rebate and add the value to the advertised battery price.

7. National Battery Rebate. The National Battery Booster Program’s value is applied as a point-of-sale discount valued at $38 per certificate after trading fees. Request a preliminary quote for the total system cost (including GST) and incorporated pricing for the itemised rebate.
